1st gen CRX questions
Hi,
I would like to know if there are aftermarket parts for a 85 CRX, I tried to get some infos on this car but only find out it' s a 1st gen CRX.
I migth buy a 85 CRX so I was wondering if it' s a good car and what to look for when I' m gonna see the car.
Also, are there parts for the 2nd gen that can go on 1st gen ?
might sound like a dumb question but I don' t know anything about these cars,
and when I was looking for infos or parts, I only saw parts for CRX 88-91 and 96-00.
Thanks

Just about anything you could want is available for the 84-87 cars.
Wheels are about the only thing that readily swap from the 2g to the 1g.

Gotta love the 1gen. My first car was an '85 CRX Si.
I miss it.

OT But, Sorry for the jack.
Funny thing was, after my '85 Si got totaled. And I was looking for another car I wouldn't even think of buying a g2 CRX, I thought they were fugly as hell, Compared to the g1's.
I hated the g2 CRX when it came out. So I drove my Harley for couple of years until I got tired of getting wet and/ or freezing. Friend gave me his 200 SX
, and I totally missed having a Honda. Bought a '90 Si and have had it ever since.
Now I love g2 CRX's so much, I've started a collection. I'm up to 4.

lol @ 200sx, I had one of those and the only good thing about it was the ice cold a/c
my first car was an 86 crx CSi (carburated Si...its a Canadian model) the motor was Si excelt it was carbbed and the body was DX style (quick lil bastard it was)...there is quite a bit of aftermarket stuff for these cars but not the ricey **** as these cars are more grassroots racing type. there are sway bars by suspension techniques, chikara headers, dc short shifter, eibach springs, ground control coilovers, koni and tokico shocks, adjustable panhard bars. and of course there are honda family swaps like 1st gen integra rear disk brake swap, 1st gen integra torsion bar swap, brown top zc (d16a1) swap for fuel injection cars (direct swap) even jdm zc swaps for both fuel injection and carbbed applications. There is also a guy that does 1piece carbon fiber hoods, mugen style wide body kits... for the 1st gen experience redpepperracing is where u wanna be. the guys over there are super friendly and will help ya like you where their family.
I miss my first gen...damn drunk driver took it away from me

good luck on your old skool project

Hey mine was hit in the exact same spot by a drunk driver who ran a red light.
AND, mine was black, as well. Coincidence? I think not.
And I only had 40,000 miles.

Thx for your answers but I won' t buy the 1st gen CRX like I told you, after I saw it, the owner didn' t took care about it while it wasn' t working, he told me the car didn' t run for 1 year.
They let it under rain and sun for this long time, and the car doesn' t have it' s fenders, for a long time, he did have replacements and new brakes but I wasn' t attract at all when I saw it. They didn' t even tried to clean it a bit to try to sell it.
It would require so much time and work to make it run and looks good again, it was looking at an epave.
Thx again, hope one day I' ll get a 2nd gen CRX, this car definitly look sexy

One good think here in my country about the 1st gen CRX is that it got the engine of the 2nd gen Prelude as it came from Japan
, so a 1.6l DOHC 16V
, so a 1.6l DOHC 16V
