Default *B18c1 CRX tranny swap?*

I have a 91 crx with a b18c1 gsr motor and a Y1(non lsd) tranny. I plan to stay all-motor, and i would like to keep a cable tranny. My tranny is starting to go so i was wondering what are your opinions about changing out the Y1 for either a YS1(if i can even find one) or S1 and putting a Quaife LSD in one of them....Or should i just convert to a hydro tranny (from a GSR, 99 Civic Si, or del Sol)?

It's up to you. The reason I went with a Hydro tranny is because cable trannies are becoming more and more scarce that pretty soon they're gonna be extinct.

Whatever you do, stay away from the USDM S1! The gears are not good for an allmotor, VTEC engine. If you do decide to stay cable, you can go with either another Y1, a JDM S1/J1, or a JDM B16A/USDM B17A YS1. Just beware if you get a YS1. Because the same YS1 label is found on the 1992-1993 LS transmissions. And once again, this is a bad choice for an allmotor B18C.

Hydraulic transmissions are a good choice. The GSR transmission has decent gearing. But it is a little taller than the aforementioned transmissions. This would give better freeway RPMs, though. Another good choice would be an ITR transmission. This has gearing similar to the B16A transmissions and has a factory LSD. A hydraulic B16A transmission can be used as well. But the B18C transmissions (GSR and ITR) are better choices since they have dual cone synchros (and therefore shift better).
