Default Turbo ITR Rollcall...

I've been turbo for about the past 2-3 years with various setups etc. and I'm finally getting my current setup dynotuned tonight. I'm all excited and wanted to start a official thread to see how many other Type R's are turbo on H-T.

If possible just post info like this, doesn't have to be this exact format but just some basic info/specs like mine below:

2001 ITR
Custom Turbo kit, slight motor build
14psi, approx. 400whp(will have dyno charts and pics tomorrow)

Why such low numbers? "Built" = ???

just becuase its built doesnt mean anything on the numbers. its the set up and the way its tuned that gets the numbers. I can tell you now on my set up i was pushing about 375whp on 10psi before i hit the dyno . i had some probs with the car and it dynoed a little lower. . . Oh yea , its a pretty conservative tune too

Well, the way i look at it is...if your going to spend a lot of money getting a motor built, i would hope you get something that can put out serious numbers, and be stable at the same time. But then again, thats just me. Didn't your stock R put out close to 300??

some things are more important than peak whp numbers... like torque, a/f ratio, and the "area under the curve"...

Well, yeah, obviously a great tuner. That is an obvious factor when tuning a car. The numbers are just what everyone wants to hear about, and see...

I must say thats pretty impressive for stock internals, especially if you have been running it that way for three years now. Somebody obviously knows what they are doing along the lines of a well tuned car .

keep trying Ryan . lol .

its all about the tune . not everyone builds their motor for all out power. power isnt everything to some people .but lots of things vary between set ups. turbo size, manifold design and tuning have alot to do with it.

I ran the car for the first year on FMU and stock injectors...second year with VAFC and 440s, and now it's only been tuned for the last 6 months. Honestly I think it won't last long, because it runs so well now that I tend to drive it much harder and more often...

Your going to need something along the lines of a Full T4 turbo, and an sfp manifold to compete with itr206.

I do the same. Mine runs so well. I never use high boost. I always stick to 9psi on the street and its still sickly fast.

Making power is all about the setup. It doesnt matter if you have a built motor or not. If you have a crappy setup you won't make crazy power, but as Pete said some people don't want or need that. For instance the GReddy 18G is a perfect example of a good midrange turbo but it wont make crazy power up top. Having a good intercooler and or manifold will also aid in making power. The big thing is going to be the turbo. The difference between a 60-1 and a 16G turbo is huge. The power and spool time will greatly change between these turbos, whether your motor is built or not.

Going for 960whp but whose counting. Should spool by 8000 or so.

to you sir. We should all go to the track after our setups are finished, and see who the big dog is.
