Default EF9 Meter Visor vs. EF8 Meter Visor

im very curious about this...

i own a 91 civic hatch with a crx dash.
a good friend of mine told me that the crx and civic meter visors are different.
(the visor is the plastic cover or cowl that surrounds the instrument cluster).
i checked the part numbers, and indeed the numbers are different.
i have installed both the crx and the civic visors, and find them to be the same.
both bolt into my crx dash perfectly.

can anyone tell me what the difference in the two are, if any?
(or if any of my information is incorrect).

ef8 visor, meter - part # 77201-SH2-A01ZB $173.37
ef9 visor, meter - part # 77200-SH3-A04ZB $101.49

what the hell is a meter visor? the Instrument cluster hood? Only differences I've seen are 88-89 hoods are squared off and 90-91 are rounded

The CRX has a more oval shape to it while the Civic one is like the one pictured above.

wow i'll have to look at the 2 covers more closely.
that is a crx interior diagram by the way.
the crx visor costs like $70.00 more too!

Yeah the 88-89 is squared off at the top and the 90-91 is round. Also the Crx one seems to have a flatter face than the civic version. I'll trty to find some pics to better explain what I am talking about

These kinda help.

CIVIC

CRX

You can see that the bottom half is what I'm talking about. I was always under the impression that the CRX cluster hood would fit into the ohter civics.

i thought all 88-89 4th gen civics/crxs had ugly square ones, and all 90-91 civic/crx have nice round ones.

i have a wagon and mine is round.

i have a friend with a 91 civic lx, his is round.

test drove an 88 crx the other day, square.

i think the crx ones might be more half moon shaped. but i dunno.
