Default Injector Install

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of an injector install write- up. It's for my friends car, B20 block, Type R head PnP with Toda cams etc... He's getting 310cc and we are going to do the install. I have a WRX and know about Honda motors but have never done an injector install on a Honda. Any info would be appreciated.

simple procedures
disconect battery...
two 10mm bolts on fuel rail
unplug injectors
lift up rail and injectors are ready to remove
make sure that the spacers inside the intake come out too
then reverse process...

You'll probably need to dremel out the intake manifold injector grommets and spacers a little or you can use the tapered ones if they come with the injectors. I'm not sure where to get the tapered ones tho. I just know that they exist and I've had a set before.

The tapered ones don't seem to work on the P72 manifold with the fuel rail spacers, but they work fine with the Skunk2 and ITR manifolds.

I'm not sure how the tapered grommets sit with the LS/B20 manifolds and fuel rails.

You really should bleed the rail pressure before removing the fuel rail. I've been sprayed before when I wasn't expecting it and it wasn't fun.

I just use motor oil since it's always laying around in the garage. Vaseline is fine, but not everybody has a bottle of it.

Also, put the injectors into the fuel rail and the grommets into the manifold first. Line up the injectors with the manifold grommets. Once everything's in place, slowly tighten down the nuts for the fuel rail until the injectors are seated in the grommets.

Thanks for the help and info. It's seems as if it should be pretty staright forward as long as there is no problems with the grommets or spacers. Thanks for the quick replies.

What do you think this setup would run. Its in an coupe (EK style)? just curious, we are supposed to run on a roll.

Yeah its really straight forward, removing them is self explanitory and well installing them is just the opposite of what you removed. You just have to be careful with the small pieces like the O rings, the plastic gromet things, I ve dropped a couple before and wasnt able to find them .

Also like they said when your putting the new injector into the fuel rail, make sure and lube it up so it they can slide in easily.

Also open up the Gas tank to relieve the pressure

Here is a link to the installation instructions for our CorrectInject Fuel Injector sets. They should be a pretty good basis for doing the injector swap....

Hope that helps!
