sunroof button leakin///
Does anyone have the same problem? It's on a 94 ls. It leaks around from where the button plugs into the roof, not really sure if it leaks through the button. I was thinking about using some sealant for it, anyone have a better suggestion? I've check those lines that runs to the back, it seems to be fine, the trunk isnt damp or anything.
Umm......am I missing something? The sunroof button isn't on the roof, it's on the left of the car right under the vent.
Is it an aftermarket sunroof?
Is it an aftermarket sunroof?
I have no idea if it's a aftermarket or not, I've recently bought the car from my cousin like that. I think it came that way from the factory. The button is on the top middle in the front edge of the sunroof. Also that is the only place that is leaking, its fine along the edges of the glass. It seems like it builds water up inside then when you start driving it just pours out. Is there suppose to be some kind of seal around it? It just plugs into the hole on the roof with nothing around it
Hmm, that's really strange. You sure it's an LS model? All Integra LS's 1994 and up should come with sunroofs stock. Perhaps 1) Your car is an RS with an aftermarket sunroof, or 2) Your sunroof was damaged at one point beyond repair and they replaced it.
Anyway, do you have a picture of it? It's going to be hard to say for us here if it's an aftermarket roof. Maybe try taking it apart and inspect the seals. Worst case, take it to a custom reupholstery/sunroof shop and ask them to take a look at it.
Just FYI, here's a pic of where a the sunroof switch is.

Well I just got off the phone with my cousin and he said it's a se rather than ls. I dont know what the diffrence is between all the base models, but he said it came like that from the factory. Unfortunately I dont have any pictures. I think i might just caulk some sealant around it before taking it to a professional sunroof place.
Well my dads ex wife had it for a year straight from the factory, then sold it to my cousin. Those were the only two owners. I can somewhat remember the sunroof being there when i was younger. Anyone have any suggestions to solve the problem?

'crazy, must have changed it when it started leaking... lol.
edit: if u epoxy it make sure the water stays out and doesnt just sit between the fabric and ur roof.

yea, the roof lining is kinda leathery stuff. but i don't recommend you "just using to sealant to seal it up before you take it to a shop." because if it is not properly taken care of, you may spend more money down the road getting it fixed right along with the other damage your DIY has inflicted upon it. about the sunroof swtich on top; that may be the two top dome lights your speaking of... not sure. anyways, get it fixed right bro.
I think I'm goin to take to a sunroof place now that you guys mentioned where the water suppose to go. Wouldnt want my roof lining sagging because of the water. How easy is it to replace the stripping for the sunroof? I think this might be the problem of water getting into it in the first place. Also were there any special models made that year? My car came with 14 inch. 5 spoke wheels that was painted white with a silver lip. I've talked to my dad and he says everything on the car was like that from the factory. Never seen any other tegs with factory painted wheels.
um, go outside, and tell us how many lugs are holding on your wheels... then tell us how many headlights you have, and we'll see if it's an integra
the sunroof button has never been placed next to the sunroof (unless you have a DA, which is an older integra, which i dont know much about) what year integra do you have? that's really fucked up...

Well, give the guy some credit.
I'm pretty sure he knows what an Integra looks like.....I hope. It's probably just an aftermarket sunroof in an Integra RS.
Sleepy86o, you said you called your friend and he said it was an SE (Special Edition)? I doubt that as well because the SE model is HIGHER than the LS model. It comes with all the amenities of the LS plus more, including the sunroof.
It's pretty easy, just pull off what you can pull off and seal off what you can seal off. If you can't do anything, then take it to a reupholstery/custom roof shop. There should be many around. They specialize in these things.
I said that in my first post. Did you try that? Or try calling them?
FYI: I can guarantee you 100% that the car was not purchased from a dealer NEW like that if you claim you have a 1994 and up Integra. Maybe it was used, or the person who had it before is clueless.
Not flaming, just trying to help you out.
