Default Power House Amuse s2k!

dunno if you guys have seen the old mag of import tuner when they were showing off 70 badass s2k parts you could get. there was an article of an orange s2k from amuse Aka Touge monster. had 5 upgrades. amuse header-exhaust-ecu, mugen intake, and greddy plugs. they say it put down 260whp. i was thinking of going nearly the same route with it. might be expensive, but that's alotta hp to be pushing out all motor on a honda. already have a spoon intake coming in from inline four, anyone know where i can find the amuse ecu?

prolly beter off getting the AEM EMS instead of a *static* ecu preprogrammed for someone else's engine mods.

the amuse or toda headers are good ... so is the HyTech which I think is king.

I plan on running the mentioined set up on my new AP1 and when speaking with ben at Bulletproof he (having the same setup) said that realistic #'s are maybe 260 at the flywheel not at the ground...

my old AP1 which won the Dyno Competiton at the 2003 Daytona Tuner Bash had a ported head, Toda valve springs, REV flat bottom valves, Spoon intake, Spoon headgasket, Spoon test pipe, and T1R exhaust and it barely put down 235...

Actually.. even though all the other headers offer amazing weight savinigs over the OE, the only three headers that where able to produce any HP out of the F20C where Amuse, Mugen and suprisingly enough DC Sports...

As you can see the Amuse and the Mugen are almost identical, thus why they both give gains.

Most of the other headers on the market are identical to the OE just much, much lighter...

Not to mention their ECU is tuned to work with 93 or higher octane gas used in Japan.

I will admit that the Amuse S2K is badass!

first off, the mugen and amuse are not the same, similar yes, but not the same. The same can be said regarding the toda vs the rest. You're forgetting to mention the toda header that makes more power than a mugen/dc. I do not know of anyone with a dyno of a amuse that I can see it's graph laid over a mugen and toda.

I never staded that they were the same..
I mentioned that they are almost identical...
in which they are almost identical.

I will not deny that the Toda header makes power...
but only matched to certain exhausts...
for instance with a test pipe and the Amuse Ti the Toda header made no increase in HP...?
Yet matched to a stock cat and a Spoon N1 and it made good power...?

Not consitent... but as well the Amuse Hi-Tech ROM is not tuned for the Toda header...
which as indicated by [ph]Amuse he wants to purchase...
so his best options are the Amuse, the Mugen and the DC Sports
(IMO because they are the three most identical in pipe length, pipe diamiter and pulse flow... thus best set up for the Hi-Tech ROM...)

but then again I am not an engineer...
these are just my opinions based on what I have seen, read, heard and learned...

With all the mods, your peak power will rise to 260-ish on a DYNAPACK. However, overall power is also noticeably increased, not to mention the fact that you will lose over 60lbs with the headers and R1000 exhaust only.

the best way to find out is test and tune... buy it try it out..doesnt work and sell it...if it works keep it... or just go on s2ki.. and ask everyone. that has it..

I watched the BMI video where it was tested (BMI Vol8 Rotary Reborn) and it quoted 250bhp at the flywheel. I think that was a little conservative, as the JDM S2K's have 247 standard. I think about 260-265 at the flywheel is about right. But who cares about the power numbers! The engine was like it was on speed! It was so responsive, you could blip the throttle, just by willing you toenail to grow! But what about the balance and handling! Tsuchiya said it was better than some race cars he had driven and remains the fastest street machine driven DOWN the Togue. But is there Power house amuse over here....no!

i have the amuse header on my car and the dyno resulted in 6whp gain on the dyno at mid range, no gain top end.. my mods are aem cai, amuse header, amuse r1 titan exhaust.. with all three of the parts, theres a slight gain over stock..

How would you know any of this? Do you have any of these parts on your s2k? Do you own an s2k? If so mods please. Also you do know that some members reported no gains with the Mugen header? Thats a fact. If your going off of civic or integra or prelude gains with the same mods, well then its going to be totally different with the S2000.

Whats up Vapor? Whens the next get together?
