What should I know before i buy a 94 civic ex?

thats obvious.. what shouldnt you look for? first off run a carfax so you know your not getting scammed in anyway.
then bascially test drive the car.
make sure its not warmed up when you get there. start it up see how it starts. check the oil. ask for records. look at the motor. drive it around. test the clutch. test everything out. if you like it.. negotiate the price.

the car has a clean title with 132k miles on it. It needs some work but he only wants $2000 for it. the guy has not driven it for about a year and he just put in a new clutch. he is holding it for me right now i think i am going to buy it tomorrow.

sometimes I buy cars on a whim... I don't even test drive them. everything on a car is replacable except the unibody itself. I check for obvious traumatic body damage.... then take the car home.

The car has a little rust on the back fender but i live in Minnesota and any car that old is going to have some rust. I have a friend who does some body work and he said it would be no problem to fix.
