d series or b series
what motor is in it? is sounds like you either have the B16 in or already leaning towards swapping to it. If you have the B16 in it then putting a D-series back in is just plain *** backwards.
Also depends on how much you want to spend and what you ultimately want out of the motor set up

well i forgot to metion that i live in northern geogia so there are a lot of fun curves so i want my hatch to hadle weel but also have a good 1/4 mile time
There are so many mixed emotions, on the SOHC and DOHC. There have been so many topics about this here on HT and on other forums. Just do some research on this, so you know what family you want to become with

id say dseries. if you get a b16, the total will be about $2000. that includes motor, tranny, ecu, axles, mount kit, custom shift linkage, and wire harness too if youre lazy. this does not include a new clutch and headers, thats an additional $600 or so. it should run low 15's stock. now for dseries, if you have an si then the tranny problem is solved. no need to get a new one unless its bad. but a dseries motor is only gonna run you like $300. maybe less if you got hookups. theres people out there that swapped to a bseries and want to get rid of their dseries. axles wont be a problem cus you just use the stock ones. ecu is about $150 from junkyard, less on the street. i ran 15.6 on street tires in my crx si. all i had was ebay intake, hp racing header, a welded on muffler, 89 integ ecu, and i ran on 15in gsr rims. i would go bseries if i was gonna invest money into it but if youre low on funds id say dseries. not that much of a difference in times at the track, but a big differnce in price though.
I had both, and I have to say the B series sounds great when the VTEC starts!!! But over here we can buy the CRX with either a d series or a b series. I'm not sure how much a b series will cost you + all the addtional components. But I sure as hell never want to have a d series anymore!
Plus a b series with a turbo installed will give you great 1/4 mile times. The b series is a very strong engine.
