Hiya!

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic EX and I'm transferring my stereo from my old car into my new one

Originally I was going to switch the headunits out, but I have come to like the sleek look of the stock headunit, and all I really want to do is hook my subwoofers back up.

However, what do I need to hook up an aftermarket amplifier to my stock headunit? In my old car I just bought a new Headunit because it had a tape player.

or you could just go to radio shack, best buy, circuit city or anyother car audio place and pick on up. some people call them a High to low level converter.

 

The are most often called Line Output Convertors. Sometimes Line Outs or LOC's for short.

 

Alrighty, I got a Line Output Converter, but now to the more serious questions...

I cannot figure out how to take the headunit out, I got only as far as popping off the panel with the cigarette lighter plug.

The guy at circuit city told me to unscrew the two screws, and I did that, but I'm wondering why it wont budge?

Can anyone give me more detailed instructions?
