Default Help! Code 22. No VTEC

I just swapped in a 94 b18c1 block w/ jdm itr pistons, rods, and 2000 itr head into my 90 integra using a pr3 ecu. when we first took it out for a test drive vtec would engage once then cut out and i'd get a code 22. i know code 22 is the vtec oil pressure sensor but everything is practically brand new from honda. the wiring is all correct and the ground is good, we double checked everything. anyone have any ideas what this might be. for now i'm keeping it under 6k and there's no code since we reset the ecu. thanks.

Everything is "practically" new? or is new? There is a difference.

If you've double checked and triple checked all your wiring, and you are 450% positive that it is correct, then switch ECU's. try a different ECU. Maybe that's your problem. If not, could be a faulty VTECp ressure switch, solenoid...

i have an ls vtec where my pressure switch isnt hooked up and the gsr ecu does NOT like that... it will idle fine, then u rev it to vtec and it throws a code and goes into a safe mode...check the connections for the vtec pressure switch.

my friend installed a vafc2 into my car. now i'm not getting the code 22, but i'm still getting no vtec. i'm lost. i'm getting a code 3 now tho. i unplugged the map sensor and plugged it back in and reset the ecu and the code goes away temporarily. the car will die randomly when i come to a stop. the car will also randomly not want to start, like it has a bad battery but we tested it and it's fine.

had another guy look at it today. wiring is 100% correct he says, however still no vtec. the pressure sensor was tested and its getting a good signal from the ecu but vtec is not engaging. the guy says that since the head was originally on an ls/vtec that whoever installed it in my car w/ the b18c1 block must not have unplugged the oil hole on the bottom side of the head. so he's going to run an external oil feed line to the block where the other hole is now plugged. hopefully this works. i'm kinda stumped tho. i was told the vafc would bypass the pressure sensor, thus whether or not i'm getting enough oil pressure vtec would be still engage. hmmm.
maybe the ecu is just f*cked.

well he was right. we ran the external oil line and what do ya know. VTEC. first time we took it out it threw a code 22. then we took it back to the shop, messed around w/ the oil line, took it back out and i've got vtec and no check engine light.
