I read some place that the new RSX might have a Type-R model in the U.S. soon.. is it true?
Said it would be lighter and more powerful.

A few months ago in sport compact it had been mentioned that a dc5r might be coming for 03 or 04...not exactly scientific.


But...if a dc5r was to be imported, one would think that with all the hype surrounding evo VII and WRX, Honda america would release something official as well.

If you have seen pictures of the 02 civic SI interior..one though came to mind...type r. In all the magazine reviews of the si, it's invaritable compared to the euro spec civic type r. Not that I know or even heard form "them" but I get the feeling that the si is being fed to us as the dc2r replacement. Just the impression that I get.

 

The USDM Si is going to be hot. Jeff over at vtec.net went to a Honda press event and was very happy with the car. Honda sais the US version gets the CTR suspension setup. Should be nice. Plus with the K20 base motor .. you can put in Type-S and JDM R parts today for a good bit more power.

 

acura is bringing a RSX type R to the states. it will arrive on jan. of 2003. with 220 hp and 161 pounds of touqre. and it will weight in at 2600 without ac, and 2650 with ac. 6 speed. but it might not come with the red recaro seats we have all been dying for. if we're lucky it will.

If you look at vtec.net's model release matrix, it lists the RSX-R slated to be released in 2003. That's next year, I'm thinking it's going to be at least 2004, possibly 2005.

WTF... 2005 looks so damn futuristic! LOL!

 

I think we will see it late next year or maby 03 but I honestly think it will come if mitsu sends the evo and sub sends the STI!
