I just got my swap to start up the other day. So far i think i've spent about 2.5 to 3.5 thousand on it. Thats taking account purchase of the engine ($1900) - new parts almost teh entire thing is like new (1000) - cylinder head work (300) - and misc other stuff. But i started from basicly scratch, didn't have anything before hand.

just buy the whole swap from one place, get everything you need at once instead of scrapping it together. i reccomend hmotorsonline.com

Man, I though it would be alot cheaper than what you guys are saying. Dont the complete cable tranny b16 swaps go for like 1500-1600, maybe 1700 w/ shipping, and mounts like 400 max??? I'm gettign a bad feeling that this engines gonna take a lot longer to get....

dont get me wrong you can get a complete 1st gen swap for 1500....then 400 for mounts....150 shift linkage. then there is the wiring....lets say you do it yourself....20 bucks for materials... then there are things that may need to be changed. clutch, timing belt, water pump, plug wires, plugs, rad hose....then there is the possibility that your hood may not close or your header may not match up to your cat....if you get a new battery and altenator along with other goodies you can easily spend 5k on a b16....plus i had to change my headgasket and various other gaskets and sensors....but like i said i have no complaints....take your time and gather all of your parts....

initially u can do it for as little as 2gs or less. but then the clutch may break the axles may need replacing, headgasket, water and oilpumps. **** like that. these motors are so old its just better to save your cash do it right and have no regrets
