Default Where do you guys ge Hondata basemaps?

I need a base map for my turbo setup. I called a local tuner and was quoted $85 for a base map. That sounds really high to me. TIA.

Before I got my car tuned, I had the place that I bought the Hondata burn a basemap for me.

Contact any Hondata dealer, folks on this board, or the tuner you plan on going to.

So how good is a base map? Reason I ask is because I just ordered a the S200b and provided all the info (B18C1, 550cc injectors, 7psi, etc.) for the base map to go with it. I plan to have the car tuned as soon as the turbo set up is installed, but the closest tuner is over 150 miles from my house. So could I drive 150+ miles @ 60+ mph to the tuner on the base map??? I have been planning to trailer it.

The basemap is so you can drive it, but I would DEFINATELY stay out of boost. If this means taking back roads and your trip taking twice as long to get there, so be it. Otherwise, trailer it.

Because it's a basemap...a base for tuning. Throwing in a basemap does not mean you are tuned, and you should drive very carefully and very limited while only on a basemap. It's really only meant to get you from your house to the tuner without having to trailer your car.

Base maps are just that. They arent tuned maps. They are not optimized for fuel or timing and when you run a map thats not optimized its not safe to push it. Just because a base map is said to be "conservative" doesnt mean you can beat the **** out of your car. Conservative usually means extra fuel an less timing which equals high EGTs if pushed hard.

I wouldn't even call them basemaps. More like startup maps.

From my tuner VaporTrail / Secret Services. Actually going to have him make one here soon for my tune (I am almost done with my setup).
