Default Is this a 2001 Civic Engine for Real?

One of my friends needs to replace his 2002 Civic Engine which is a D17A1. I came across this but does not look familiar. Can anyone look at it and let me know if this engine is for or from a Civic?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

Thanks
Jay

For starters.... the dipstick is in the wrong place. Secondly.... D17 alternators are in the front. They say its from Japan? WTF? And our Civic's don't use distributors anymore.

i'd say no. The new d17's have 1 coil for 1 plug. that looks like a 96-00 d series

But I've only seen the EX(Canadian Si) d17 up close. The ad says DX/LX so maybe.... ??

Look more like a D16Y7.....

I agree on the shady part.

There are no JDM Y7 engines, I don't even think they have JDM D17 engines.
