Default USDM or JDM front. Why are they different?

Yes I know what both of them look like but, I never knew why we got a totally different front end than Japan. Why couldn't we have @ least gotten the HID's?

Japan did get the USDM round headlight front between 93-94. It was not met with the greatest admiration and reluctant sales caused Honda to redesign the Integra for their domestic sales.

Personally I love the USDM front, particularly the 98-01. If I wanted my car to look like an Accord, I would have bought one .

I thought all none type R integras in Japan also sported the quad light front end. It was only the R's that got the mean look.

Feel free to correct me, but I am sure I have seen an imported SI which is the same year as my R (97 on a R plate) which had the quad lights.

Lets say it's "bending the law a bit"

Same instance as the imported Evo8's. They were delayed originally due to poorcrash test results with the JDM bumpers and supports they originally had.

That's why the USDM Evo8's have the redesigned "pig snout" front bumpers (they were redesigned for US crash tests).

every car the us gets sucks nowadays. ford gives us the shitty *** focus, but then again, it is a focus. we dont get the ctr, no new dc5r's, no honda fit, no ford focus rs (the rs actually has some ***** believe it or not), and many more that i dont kno of. too many damn regulations. maybe we could fond someone that would let us use their boat that can carry cars and smuggle in some genuine jdm cars with out payin it off the rest of your life...lol. i kno a few ppl that work at the e-check so im covered, i hope.

...but seriously, how do you get, lets say, a jdm itr registered? i guess for emissions you could put on a usdm cat, and what about insurance? i bet theyd charge you an ungodly amount. someone who knos the regs, post em please....

thanx

As someone else pointed out, they did try the same nose on all their markets, but it was an abysmal failure JDM and they redesigned it just to be able to sell cars in their home market.

I also prefer the USDM/UKDM nose, and would never think about spending money for a JDM nose.

USDM front is ugly and the front plate makes it uglier.

But I would never pay X amount of money for the JDM Accord front.

The USDM front was original design for the GenIII - but Japanese consumers didn't like it - so they went back to a design that was similar to the GenII.

http://www.g1teg.org/history/ is an interesting historical read - but no mention of the JDM/USDM/AusDM/CDM differences.

It's funny that the Japanese have no hangups over the GenIV - which is a evolution of the GenIII nose more than anything.

I had a 1994 JDM Si VTEC teg which had the quad lights similar to the Uk/US Gen3 integras, i had the car for 3 years and loved the look of it, but then more and more imported JDM ITRs started appearing on our roads and it was so much nicer and meaner looking that i just had to have one, so i bought one and love the looks of it to bits, many people still have no idea of what it is till they see the ITR decals on teh side or rear. 93-95 JDM integras make very little money in japan, 93/94 Si-VTEcs can be picked up at auction in japan for under $1200, 95 SiRs for less than $1750!!!

IMHO, i think that the rsx would look cool w. longer headlights like the TSX, and get rid of the stupid indentions found in the front and rear lights...
