Anyone here use car covers?
I got the one from Acura and I gotta admit its kinda bulky. My friend has a good one made my CoverCraft. Its called a Weathershield. Its thin like a umbrella material and is good for outdoors. Heres a link

i use my car cover every night...........the one night i didnt put it on, my car got broken into and some *** attempted to steal it.......autolock saved me that time, but they still got away with my system! Its nice using one during the summer as well, keeps your paint and car wash on the nicer side! Its very easy to install, especially after you do it a few times..you get a routine going. Its water proof for the most part, but then again..i've used mine for the past 2 years, and its not really water proof anymore. The brand of mine was also covercraft, but dont know if it was called the weathershield
i use a carcover occassionally even though i have it in the garage. My workbench is in the garage so i kick up lots of dust in there.
if youre going to park your car outside, get a weatherproof one.
Ideally you should kepe your car clean before covering. otherwise you'll just collect dirt under the cover and have it scrape up your car each time ypu cover and uncover it.

What? Sorry but that sounds kinda dumb, are you sure.

$40 100% waterproof at pepboys. It says 100% waterproof on the box. I have used this for the past 3 years or so. I'm pretty rough with mine and get a new one every year. Always keeps the car clean & dry. Breathable as well. For the money you can't beat it. My car is covered whenever it is not in use.

I use one on a daily basis, takes 20 seconds to put on and 20seconds to take off, it's the best 20seconds you'll spend. it will absolutely save your finish. I only use OEM, but I am sure there are after market covers that will be as good. Never leave the cover on in adverse weather, just wash your car asap after the bad weather is gone. If you have a g2 the g3 OEM car cover will fit, but it says integra on the front, not acura. never use a cover on a durty car.
hey schu,
how good is the oem for moisture protection? we get a lot of rain here during the winter up in norcal and since i decided to start parking my car outside since the birds seem to think my wife's 4dr is a toilet bowl and gets bombed constantly and i mean bombed. i was thinking of investing in a car cover for the gsr. tia

the one i got from advanced auto parts isn't even water proof! It says water repelant but it rained and the water went right through it and my car was pretty soaked in some spots

Na, no good for moister... most everything I have read, says that is not a good idea to keep your car covered in wet conditions, the rain is usually pretty clean(except here in so cal) so you should not be as worried about that as you are about driving in muddy conditions and then putting a cover on a dirty car. The worst problem I see is leaving the car dirty in sunny conditions, the dirty bakes in... clean that sucker asap and use the cover for UV protection.

I cover my GSR up during the weekdays when its sitting in the garage. It keeps it so much cleaner. No dust. I got my **** from Walmart for 20 bucks. Money well spent.
