Default Slipping Clutch

ok...here's my problem... i have a 96hb that i just put a d16y8 swap into. the swap was currently in a friends car (00jdmcivic) the clutch worked great when he took it out of his car, so i was pretty sure it would work great in my car...but it didn't. it only slips between shifts not rolling into power. what i've tried already...i flushed the fluid from the clutch system and bled the slave cylinder and adjusted the rod from the pedal to master cylinder. made no difference. one idea a friend had was that something got onto the clutch surface. this couldn't have happened because the tranny was never separated from the block. this is really starting to drive me crazy......any suggestions on how to resolve this????? any help is greatly appreciated.
