Oil on the clutch disk???
After having my rear main seal explode Sunday and being out of $408 for the repairs I finally picked up my car from Acura on Friday. As soon as I got into the car and started driving it I noticed something was terribly wrong with the clutch. I could tell it was slipping pretty bad. I contemplated going back to Acura but I could not be late for work. When I got to work I got my boss to help me bleed the clutch, but while the pressure felt great after that the disk was not grabbing the flywheel like it should. After I got off from work I drove the car home and put it in the garage. On Monday I finally took the car out to go to school and the clutch seemed fine. BTW i have just under 5,000 miles on this new ACT XTSS clutch and flywheel. The only problem I felt was at very high rpm shifts when the car seemed to rev higher when the clutch was being disengaged.
Also, it seemed to be less of an engagement between high rpm shifts also. I have concluded that since oil was leaking from the point where the engine and tranny bolt up that oil has leaked onto the clutch disk. Am i going to have to replace the disk or will it all burn off. I got on it today and everything seemed fine until I got into the upper rpm shifts, but while fully engaged the car accellerated normally. Help!

just out of curiosity, what added up to the $408?

probably labor
they probably didn't clean the clutch disk, so its still soaked with oil
its gonna be hard to clean something like that, once its soaked

I'd remove and inspect + clean the entire clutch/ flywheel area where it meets with the motor and tranny...
But do as RJ said and take it back to the dealer - as they are now responsible for the oversight.
Oil on clutch disc = bad. I'd replace, not try to clean as it never feels right again (imho).
The real problem is how oil got on the clutch - make sure it won't happen again!
G'LUCK!
