Default A/C line questions... JDM HID front related

I had to bend the condensor line ("IN") to the reciever, but i may have bent it too much... please take a look (imagestation pics, so please add ".orig.jpg"). The AC is not as cold... do u think i just need a recharge or should i replace the line?

Looks kinked and is probably blocking off flow. I say replace the line if possible.

You should hook up some manifold gauges to it and read the pressures. If the pressures are abnormally high then you have a restriction. I can't remember too much about a/c operation but I think that is the low side that goes from the evaporator to the receiver-drier to the compressor. This makes sure that there is no liquid going into the compressor. It has been several years since my heat transfer class but fundamentally thinking, if there is a restriction resulting in a higher pressure then there will be a less efficient cooling. This is because the pressure drop across the evaporator will be less. The lower the pressure change, the less heat can be absorbed by the evaporator. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

But yeah, you should hook up some gauges and monitor the pressures.

Judging from the pic though, I think it is ok. I had to bend my lines too to fit my HID but it wasn't bent there.

gauges... can i just use a tire pressure gauge? or do i need a special ac-gauge-reader-thingy

You have to use the a/c gauges because they have special adapters and read at much higher pressures. good luck.
