water or oil ????
My b16a is puffing smoke now so i check the spark plug for some reason. they where white as hell so i change them ran better. But it would still puff smoke when i push it hard like over 5400rpm. the oil is fine no oil loss at all my old man says it might be a head gasket leak. When i drive about 85 mph on 5th gear J1 tranny the cabin smells like the engine burning and more smoke thru the tail pipe so i slow down to 65 and the smell decrease then goes away. Also no vtec kicking in at all. What can i check, if its doom how much would a short block b16a run for. sad part i have only had it since febuary of this year

First thing is that you are running lean if your plugs are white.
what color is the smoke?
short block is $599 from here http://hmotorsonline.com/.
I got my motor from them and it literally runs like its new. 15K miles, not 1 problem.

thanks roadawg $599 not bad because if it just cheaper than to f@@k with the engine ill save more money to buy one
what should the compressions be between cylinders

i checked the tail pipe and u can smell the raw fuel and see the liquid form. i cahnge spark plugs yesterday and they where white. today i checked them and once again they are starting to turn white. what can this mean.

compression should be anywhere from 180 to 230 on average, but as long as the numbers are consistent you should be fine, whithin 10 psi from each other.

if you dont have oil and coolant mixed in either the oil or coolant then its not your head gasket;
low compression is either caused by worn rings or improperly seating valve. get a leakdown test and you can find out more.
