Default lsvtec?

Is it possible to run lsvtec without a knock sensor? Can you use obd1 gsr head, mate it with obd1 ls block with obd2 si harness and distributor? any help would be appreciated... thanks...

I belive you need to run a knock sensor in order for vtec to work.

yes u don't need the knock sensor if u don't want it but I kept mine in case u know being it is Ls/Vtec

and well u can just stick a pin in the knock sensor clip to loop it and will think it is on

But that is if u go that route

and well I know the VAFC II has a knock sensro mode in it if u like it in case u rev to high !!!!

i have an lsvtec in my teg...i put a knock sensor in mine just cause i wanted it done right...but i believe an apexi vafc will force the vtec to kickin without a knock sensor. I would recomend a knock sensor if your gonna be revvin the motor up..honda put it there for a reason

if you get your motor properly tuned you shouldnt need a knock sensor.

haven't checked the code yet but i think my car is in limp mode.... if i can't rev past 4100 rpm then thats limp mode right? correct me if i'm wrong but i'll have to check the code sometime this weekend. also would running unleaded 89 or 90 octane cause a rattling noise when driving? thanks guys..

the rev limiter is diff depending on the ecu i believe but it youre almost def in limp mode if you cant rev above a low rpm like 4100, either that or some sort of ignition problem.
