I've had some problems with my radio not turning on. It just doesn't have any power. Swapped it out with another R and it worked fine in his car, so there's something electrically wrong with the wires, not the head unit. Of course Sound Advice, Best Buy, Circuit City are going trying and sell me a new head unit, but my factory one works fine. I'm like, "listen you retard, the factory head unit works fine, I just need you to troubleshoot the electrical part"
They all respond, "uhhh, we can't work on it because it's a factory radio even if the radio itself isn't the problem." WTF is this? They say I have to go throught the dealer. Anyone else been in this situation?

Is there something electrically wrong with the car itself? IE. Alternator?
Does the headunit LIGHT UP at night when the lights are turned on?

I'm not really going out on a limb when I say it's a waste of their time and money if they aren't selling you a radio and doing installation. As well Electrical problems aren't always easy or fun to find and to them, their policies as per liability most likely states not to get involved in a radio/stereo or electrical system they haven't installed themselves.
If you don't still have a warrenty, the dealership will most likely be expensive.
Your best bet imo would be to go to a REAL reputible car audio shop (non chain) and lay it out for them straight forward. At which point I'd expect them to lay it out for you just how much explorative electrical surgury will cost per hour.
Better luck in the future.

don't need multimeter. Just get a test light and see if you have power coming to the connector, which sounds like you aren't.
don't ever trust the guys at the chain stores w/ electrical stuffs. Of course there are some that actually know what they're doing, but the ones I've seen are

Guess I'll go pick up a test light from Discount Auto Parts.
How do you use one?
Just put the test light on the white harness thing on the car side with the key on? I'm retarded.

One end on the wire side and one end on a chassis ground (a number of them around your interior, seatbolts, etc).

Trace the wiring to find where it's fucked.
Also, replace the blown fuse.
