Default 1990 Honda Civic Si Engine Swap

I need help deciding what kinda engine swap to do. Here's all the info I've gathered on my car:
VIN: 2HGED7369LH505801
Year: 1990
Make: HONDA
Model: CIVIC Si
Country: USA
Generation: 4G
Engine Type: 1.6L, 4 Cylinder, 108hp, Gas, Fuel Injection
Engine: D16A6
Displacement: 1590
Horsepower: 108@6000
Torque: 100@5000
Compression: 9.1:1
Valve train: SOHC 1.6L 16-Valve SOHC
Curb weight: 2127
Fuel Type: Gasoline, Fuel Injection
Body Type: 3 door hatchback, FWD
Chassis: ED736
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual

I was looking into doing a Mini-Me Swap to a D16Z6 head /w the original D16A6 bottom-end. I was also looking at a B16A6 or B16A swap. I really don't know the difference b/w a B16A and a B16A6. Any help would be useful along with any links to guides or ANYTHING!

Default Air Intake & Filter

There is also a K&N Air Intake & Filter installed on the car, but I guess if the engine fits so should the intake, eh? it just bends to the front-left w/ a cone-like mushroom filter.

First of all, there is no B16A6. The main deciding factor is going to be your budget. If you are tight on funds, then doing a mini-me or swapping in the entire D16Z6 is one of the options you could take. Another would be to leave your existing motor in and piece together a turbo kit. If you have sufficient funds, then by all means, swap in a B-series motor. Use the search function on this site, there is tons of info on this topic.

Default engine code mistake

what b-series motor would fit w/ major modifications such as modified mounts, removal of AC, etc. i meant a B16A1... oops. whats the difference b/w a b16a1, a2, or a3? is a b18 smaller/more compatible w/ my car?

if you decide to do a mini me swap use the d16y8 head so your stock d16a6 distributor will bolt right on perfectly.

Default car problems are the begining

well it seems my cousin that did his own engine swap to his honda civic, i think it was the vtec prelude jspec engine or something, has come across a d16z6 head i think it is... for the mini-me swap. im still looking into the d16y8 head and what the difference is, etc. my cousin is gunna sell me the head for 125$ and i need to buy the vtec comp. and he'll do the work.

but as for other problems... INSURANCE! im 19yrs old male! expensive + no job = screwed. imma spend most my time trying to get money for the comp. and the head from/for my cousin. anyone know any prices on the required computer? also i need to get my license this week! LoL... and a job!

ps. thanx for all the help

to run the vtec you'll need to swap to obdo1 or get a hondata or zdyne ecu. i used the zdyne and it cost me about 330$.

If your gonna swap it then swAp it to a b series, swapping your single for another single isn't worth the time/money.

Holy Jesus ******* Christ 9 year old thread bump?!? Also it's "rewire" not reware and "the car" not de car. As far as a actual answer, convert to obd1 and use a p28. Search goddamnit
