Ok this is a dealer trade in on a V-dub lot. the car only has 51K miles some body damage but not bad. but the engine makes a pinging noice in the head it does not seem to affect it it hits V-tec fine and the engine is storng and it was audlt owned no after market mods. i chewed them down to $7200 should i go for it?

 

check the compression...do a leakdown. but other that, thats pretty low of a price for a car with just 51k, especially a GSR.

take some pics, makes it a lot easier....its tough to tell you to buy it or not just by a 2 line description that was pretty vague.

 

the car only clicks (i ment click not ping) when when the car is warm and you cant hear it with the hood down. i was thinking it was a a lifter but i just want anotehr opion before i buy it

 

Do a compression/leakdown test and try to get a Carfax report for it. Then u can make a better decision with the results you get.

 

I have a compression tester, do you think the dealship would let me do it there or better yet take it too a machinic

ok i talked to the dealship and they told me that i cant have a mechanic look becasue i am paying him to find something wrong, so they will find something.
