Default very weird p13 prob

so my hatch seems to be wired up prooperly for the vafc and the h22 swap, but i keep hittin a cutoff at 6500rpm. so my freind came over and i put his chipped p13 in my car...it has no rev limiter but im not sure on the program, but it ran good, pulled hard to 7500. SO we put my supposidly faulty ecu in his car, and his ran fine...which means both ecu's seem to work fine, its just the unchipped one will not work in my car....any ideas

ps i was considering spraying but im way to afraid, especially if im detinating or something, we pulled the plugs and they seemed fine

6500, is the limit that is hit when requirements for vtec arn't met. make sure that all your vafc wiring is correct, and go thorught the flow chart for vtec to look for a possible intermitent.

and you can hit that 6500 rpm limit without a cel, and the fact that your friends chipped ecu works tells me that it is programed to ignore checking for inputs before turning vtec on.

hope that helps

hmm....if u can get ur firends ecu back try this, monitor the vtec in and vtec out, and take it for a spin and make sure both are going ON, just to make sure that his ecu is infact engaging vtec, not that his just doesnt have the 2step rev limiter like a stock one would, perhaps his chipped disabled that.

sounds like you are getting a check engine code and don't know it...are you sure your CEL is hooked up properly...is the light burnt out?
