Default Heatshield Prelude 98

this may sound like a stupid question but I figured I would ask anyways. I have a 1998 prelude type Sh and still have stock headers but I would like to take off the heatsheild?? would the header rust if I took off the sheild, or would it cause any other problems??

Well, being honest with you, it is already discolored and rusted anyway. So why not just take it off, but besides, what does it do to your car if you take the shield off, unless you had an upgraded header?

I have cf invader hood which has a vent near the headers so i figured it would help cool off the header

Well, the header will always be in extremely high temps because of "obvious" reasons.

Just upgrade, you will notice the difference.

heat oxidation always occurs on stock headers, just get aftermarket ones if you don't want rust.
