...only weird clicking noise
there is a 'clicking'/'clanking' noise....very subtle...only happens sometimes...and it's in the 'timing belt' area of my car in the engine bay....ill have to take a look when it's light out....but does anone have any idea what it could be??
I had that noise near timing belt too,
i traced it to the water pump, water pump bearing worn out, so the gear wobble. timing belt was hitting on the cover. when the wobble got worse, I stop driving the car.

im pretty sure it's coming from under the timing belt cover....whats under that....just the timing belt and camgear????...........and how do i get the cover off so i can asses the problem
there are some 10 mm bolts on the side. there is a top and bottom part to it. to get the top off you need to loosen the valve cover. to get the bottom off you need to remove the crank pulley bolt. good luck.
it might also be your alternator because i had the same problem and i replaced my timing belt and alternator since it did need a new one and then after that it stop making that noise
Do you have a/c? My a bearing on the pully on the a/c on my car went bad so it sounded like the car was going to blow up. I couldn't figure out what it was, it sounded like it was coming from under the timing belt cover. Alittle trial and error and when i took off the belt for the a/c the noise quit! So yeah check that out.
