Default spark advance - is it really hard on a bottom end?

Factory spark on my lude is 15 degrees before TDC, with a error range of +/- 2 degrees.

I went two degrees outside of that (just cranking the distributor back) so I'm at 19 degrees, or +4 from stock.

Is this bad? Am I actually making more power?

once again, this is NOT cam gear advancing, this is just spark advance. This is on a JDM h22 with 45,000 miles.

it should not be to bad. i would retard it at least one or two degrees and only advance it about 2 degrees, but you shoudl be fine. the only way it will hurt you is if yoru getting detination, if not don't worry about it.
