how many washers are supposed to be used for the the fuel filter? cuz i have a small leak coming from there its a 99 ex

2 washers one goes on the bottom of filter the other one on the top they should be copper washers also never torque the filter too tight this will make it leak uses a flare nut wrench if u got one

It depends what type of fuel filter, I'm assuming you mean the type that uses a banjo bolt.
You need three washers, one on the bottom and one on each side of the banjo bolt.
