Default Intake Question

Hey everyone im a noob to this forum....just bought a 89 crx with a b16 swap yesterday...it had some ghetto ebay hot air intake,so its time to get an intake...really want an aem but had a couple questions. Is the hybrid crx w/b16 swap intake one of their real CAI or is it a short ram? Also if it is what intakes will fit the swapped car that actually relocate the filter to the fenderwall?I thought that mabye the stock aem cai made for the d16 might fight...possible?Thanks alot.

Easiest way to do it is use the stock piping and buy you a K&N filter.i have found that just because i spent $200 on aem short ram doesnt mean it will make more Hp than just moddifying your stock pipes with K&N filter.Personally i have experimented with both and could not tell and difference between the 2.Its just that doing it yourself is more fun and cheaper, just make sure you do it right and it will be just as good as paying all that money for some one else to do it.

lol by "hot air intake" i was talking about those intakes that relocate the filter right in the middle of the engine bay(therefore sucking in ambient and most likely hot air).

ya my friend and i made our own intake usuing the stock piping and an old school k&n filtercharger i had lying around....works good...sucks from right behind the headlight....i was kinda worried about the aem cai anyways cuz my friend sucked in a bunch of water with his..and the bypass valve makes it look ugly
