Default anyon prefer stock intakes instead of performance intakes?

i found a comptech ice box for a very good price used... but i was thinkin of just stickin with the stock intake and maybe droppin in a k&n filter instead of the stock replacement. what do you guys think? i know youre supposed to get a few extra hps out of a short ram or cold air...

i checked kragen and autozone and they didnt have a k&n drop-in for an integra. i dont want the k&n intake... i heard people use the k&n filter in place of the stock filter. which one would i get? do you have to use the stock filter arm and attach the filter to it?

"what ever floats your boat" function over fashion or fashion over function

which ever one you decide to go for as long as you like it.

personally im diggin the stock intake box, you can scoop up the filters on ebay cheaper i guess

i dont really shop on ebay. haha but i think ill go and see how much they go for on there. all i need to do is figure out what k&n filter model will fit in the stock airbox.

call up kragen and tell them to order it. usually takes a day. that's how i got mine. it's not noisy like an open-element, but it cleans the air going in, and that's what it's supposed to do.

which model did you get? 2427? is that a drop in? or does it have to be modified to fit the airbox?

I have a K&N drop-in filter and a BSQ intake. No complaints yet.

Check the intake filter test, A'PEXi won with the most hp and highest filtration. I bought one and I am one satisfied customer.

I had the ice box and I hated it. Sold it for a $100 after the first week. It felt like throttle response suffered and overall slower.

I love the intake setup I have now. I cut the top portion of the resonator that routes back in to the engine compartment, which means that it draws cooler air from the fender almost identical to the type r setup. I left just enough material left so that I was still able to attach to the body. Combined with a K&N air filter, it sounds really sweet, in my opinion.

I know the gains won't be anywhere close to a aem CAI, but on the other hand, it's a lot quieter and more stock like.
