cleaning air filter

i have an iceman intake, and was wondering if i can clean the filter w/ the K&N filter cleaner? if not, can i just order a K&N and swap out filters?

is the cleaner that comes in the kit some special degreaser? I know that the oil is, but can I use any other degreaser to clean the filter?
