Default RE:prelude build up

thanks for letting reply satan, anyways like i said im new to import scene.my last car was a 99 ls1 t/a that ran in the 12's with just bolt-ons ..so i was under the influence that 100 hp with bolt-ons and minor internal work would get me there, since just bolts on got me 400 hp in the bird..i actually traded my 02 echo for this car and want a dd thats alil quicker than stock.and just about every site ive been to has had a 200-300 hp,300-400 hp and so on build up page..even for alot of the import sites so i thought you guys would have somthing simular.if this is all true this car is def not made for the strip or speed for that matter w/o a big *** turbo and lots $$.i was seriously misinformed about this car.

92 prelude..you said that im gonna have shellout alot of cash to make 200 hp with the h22a..doesnt the stock motor put out 190 hp?

and yea i guess i do think an exhaust wil give me 20 hp , since thats what the ls1 gave me when i put a borla on it..guess i better stick to dom's for racing, but ill keep the lude for a slow dd

to the crank. these guys are referring to the wheels

if you don't want to fork out a $hitload of cash,
but want it to be reasonably quick, you should consider
running nitrous, make sure you have a healthy engine though

the h22a doesn't respond to bolt ons as well as a domestic or the new honda k-series engines do. An exhaust will probably net you 5-10whp across the powerband.

hmm, i think a 75 shot, or a 50. getting the car to 200 whp is relatively easy with the right bolt ons. isn't all that cheap, but it's definitely possible.

heh not all honda guys are ********, in fact some of H-T and definitely the prelude forum is pleasantly lacking in them.

good luck!

you know what honestly? I don't care...about 10 people like you come on here a day and talk about some retarded crap and I have to lock it. I can't sit here and try to read your damn mind about where you came from and what cars you used to own.

If you want a drag car stick to LS1s

We're not 'honda guys', we're just people who work on cars.

Preludes are fast enough, but as with any 2.2L motor it's has it's limitations. If you seem to think a 2.2L 4 cylinder is going to respond like a 5.7L V8 you are sadly mistaken, get real man.

And yes we talk about HP to the wheels here, not crank advertised hp.

Sorry but like I said there's about 10 of you a day on here. Just do some research and check your assumptions at the door.

190 hp is not at the pavement, but on a stand. you lose a bit from transfer. all HP ratings from cars are rated this way. the best way to get a true HP rating to the street is via dyno.

I did say that. As everyone already said, 190hp is at the crank. I believe you lose 17% of your horsepower when it reaches the wheels. Around there anyways.

A bigger engine will give you bigger results when modded.

yes, but there are engines with smaller displacement that
respond better than ones with larger displacement "cough" k-series"cough"
