F22A? F22B?
Well, i have an f22a motor sohc non-vtec. And im pretty sure the f22b is vtec right? but why on my car around 5,000 rpms my car makes like a combustion noise like theres a second cam, or VTEC kicking in? It strange....i can take it up but at about 5,000 its a kinda boost and the motor just sounds like it explodes like VTEC
the f22b1 in the accord is a single cam vtec
anyways your f22a is not exploding like VTEC I assure you...it's probably just the F22a scream "please stop revving me so high AGGGGGGHHHHHH this hurts!!!!!!"

It might be possible.. but it wouldn't give you VTEC...
and to avoid confusion... please get the engine codes right.... F22B is a JDM DOHC non VTEC...
F22B1 is the 94-96 SOHC VTEC engine...
F22B2 is the 94-96 SOHC non VTEC...
F22A1 is the SOHC non VTEC engine...(well the one originally found in the Lude S)
Although... it's possible someone might have put a dual runner F22A6 manifold and possibly the ECU on your F22A1... and that might be what you are feeling...since that's around where the secondaries open using the F22A6 PT6 ECU...

you can't VTEC an F22a by changing the cams.
