worst possible situation when fixing a no vtec problem? paypal you with answer
So i just got my head rebuilt with a valve job and some porting. i did all the basic tune up procesdures change oil, coolent, timing belt etc etc. start the car take it for a spin pulls great but below 5000 rpm ( a jdm b16 btw). I get no vtec.
but it could be so many things since i changed and put in some many items on my car. the oil pressure is better, because i use to get a oil light for like 5 or 6 seconds when i first start my car no it just goes a way instantly. no CEL (running a PWO). i am just scared its nothing Mecanical. i hope the guy did everything right. but what could he do wrong that would not make Vtec kick in? maybe the pin on the vtec rocker fell off?
i am open to any sugestions and will paypal the first correct answer with 5 bucks for just knowledge.

assuming you have no CEL's check:
1) you check your oil level? vtec will not engage if there isn't enough oil
2) take out your vtec solenoid, and take a q-tip to the filter inside.......if it's dirty enough replace it. if it doesn't solve it think of it as pre-emptive maintenance
