the cluster temp sensor If remember it right is just below/next to the distributor. The sensor that switches the fans on is right next ot the thermostat.

fan switch is the 2 prong sensor on the back of the block for a D16z6 if you jumped her and it runs then chances are is a bad fan switch. Swap that and see if your A- OK usa

FAN SWITCH:
If you have a Two Prong Sensor on the back of the block, then it didn't come with the motor. 92-95's had that sensor located on the thermostat housing (sensor just has a new look) with a bolt in the back of the block at the old location. The 91-'s had that two prong sensor.

CLUSTER TEMP SENSOR:
As previously stated is a one-wire sensor that is just below the distributor on the head. It's not the two-wire one.

Absolutely correct with the first paragraph, but with the cluster temp sensor i thought the 1 wire sensor was for the oil temp and the 2 wire for the temp sensor?

Oil Temp? Nah... never seen that in any Honda Civic/CRX/Prelude manual... The one wire Sensor sends a signal to the cluster's Coolant Temp Gauge only. The Two Prong Sensor is the TW Sensor which goes to the ECU.

TW Sensor (Coolant Temperature Sensor) - Taken from Helm's Manual "A temperature dependant resistor (Thermistor). The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the colant temperature increases."

It basically tells the ECU the temp of your coolant. This is so changes can be made if need be. Also, VTEC won't engage until the ECU can 'see' that the motor is warm enough and this is how it see's.
