Default CRX distributor

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong with my distributor? When I start my car, I have to rev it up to 4k for the engine check light to come on, and then the car will run fine. Why does it do this? ANd als is there a way to bypas that map sensor on my fire wall? I have noticed that if you disconnect it, the car will run rich. Please let me know.
Thanks,]

What code does it throw?

You need the MAP sensor.

It gives a code 9 which is telling me 2 things. It could be the #1 cylinder sensor, or the distributor. I know that my bottom end is fine. I think that it is that damn distributor.
