Default For those running HAMP's

1st yes i tried searching and didnt find the answer i was lookin for. I just put on my 1st hamp filter i got the long one #15400-plc-004 and when i put it on when i tightened it i just stopped like it was completley flush with the mounting surface. this isnt like normal filters where you can keep turning when it comes in contact with the mount surface. after screwing it on and all of a sudden it stopping i backed it off a little. it this normal for the hamp's to just stop turning or did i go way way to far.

Is it properly oiled, if not that can explain the abrupt halt

Get them from passwordjdm for a lot cheaper than that. Around $7 I believe.

The new oem honda filters are now made by honeywell

Back on topic, I experienced the same thing with the very small HAMP filter (H1540-PFB-004). Read my post here.... http://theoildrop.server101.co...01071

I have not had a leak at the mating surface of the filter/block, but it seems odd that the filter just STOPS without any 'give' or feedback to its tightness.

if i'm not mistaken, honeywell bought out allied signal. since allied signal used to make fram, honeywell now does. thus, honda oil filters are still fram oil filters.

when i used the smaller honda oil filters, it would screw on just the same as you describe with the hamps you are using. it just came to an abrubt halt almost like it did not have a gasket on it. i was worried at first, but it never leaked so i later forgot about it.

not exactly true, but as a honeywell employee, that's close enough.

end result is honeywell=fram

i use hamps. it does the exact thing you explained. seems 100% normal to me. haven't experienced leaks at all from the filter. i used to check every fillup for the last 2 months.

i get mine for 5 a piece local,

1 usd = 110.100yen (www.xe.com)
x usd = 1000.0yen

1000/110.1 = 9.082652134423251589464123524069 for 3 or
3.0275507114744171964880411746897 ea = $3.03 per filter.

how much is shipping on those?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by blackdc5 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Does anyone have a list of OEM Honda filter part numbers and their make?
e.g.
15400 PCX 004 = Toyo Roki, Honda S2000 Filter (large)
15400 PLC 004 = Toyo Roki (large or small?)
15400 PLM A02 = Fram ( )
I don't know anymore PNs...

</TD></TR></TABLE>

15400 PLM A01 are filtechs, the same size as A02's, but hard to find. I have never gotten any info when i have mentiond this, but i read a link that someone posted quite a while ago, that was a HAMP website for thailand i think, i cant really recal which country. The guy who linkked the website said that HAMP was created as a an option to expensive OEM honda parts. I dunno if that is true or not, but i am very curious to know.
