Stupid mistake - rod bolt overtorque. [Possible to buy 1 ARP 2000 bolt?]
First time using a stretch gauge. Read the dial wrong, stretched the bolt 4x as far as I should have. Now it looks like I can either buy a whole set of ARP 2000 bolts for my Eagle LS rods to replace 1 bolt (ouch - I heard it's like $12 per bolt!) or run with the overstretched bolt.
I didn't measure them unstretched, so I am not sure whether it's out of tolerance or not.
Any advice?

i'd have the rod looked at first. could it be possible you changed the shape of the rod? i know it's possible on stock rods, but not sure on eagles. also, i would replace that one rod bolt as well.
I would not run that bolt under any circumstances. That could be a very costly mistake. Simple you should repelace it. Check your pm I have sent you the name and phone of the person I have dealt with. I didn't want to do it here so that person doesn't get overwhelmed with requests
.
??? If you didn't measure it in the first place, how do you know that you stretched it 4x to far?
Vtecb20 coupe is right I would take a close look at the rod. Ecspecially the threads. It will be best to call eagle they may have a single bolt as well and will best tell you how to service their product. I read my eagle instruction sheet and it says: " The free standing length should be checked against its original lenght. If there is an increase or .001" or more, or if there is ant permanent deformation or galling the bolt should be replaced."

Thanks for the info. I don't think I damaged the rod - I stretched it 4 times its recommended stretch length (.020 instead of .0050) as indicated by the gauge. Pretty sure the bolt is toast, though. The gauge didn't zero after the bolt was loosened, it stayed at .010 past.
Well, I called Eagle. No damage done to rod, but the bolt should be replaced. Here's the kicker: they're sending me a new bolt free of charge! Didn't even have to ask! Eagle gets a big
from me for this.

Im about to call them as well, the spec sheet that came with my rod is confusing. I ended up streching two set out of my eagle rods. I was trying to torque them to 75lbs. which according to their spec thats what it says.
hopefully they help me out too.
