HEY....can you do like ol' V8er's and weld spider gears RATHER than LSD???

Default HEY....can you do like ol' V8er's and weld spider gears RATHER than LSD???

is there an equivilant to "welding spider gears" like the old GM cars rear ends?
can you do the same or similar method to your honda tranny???

Yeah I've heard about it being done. It's not a very good method but I heard it worked. I also don't believe it's legal for racing.

the bad thing is, if you do that, you will destroy your diff on turns. the idea of a differential, is to allow the inside wheel to turn slower than the outside wheel on turns. if you weld the spiders, or even do a prodrive spool, or equivalent, it is for track racing only.

so this will total your tranny? or just eat tires on turns?

That is call an open diff

yes you can wld your diff however it will eat up tires and make turns a little bit more difficult...
