Default Crower VS. Skunk2

Which is better for my JDM H22a, Crower Stage 2 camshaft or Skunk2 Stage 2 camshaft?

What are you doing to the cams to break them?? I can't imagine that either 1, you installed them incorrectly, or 2, you have some component that just puts waay too much pressure on them. I've heard of a few snapping, but 3 in 6 months? I would think Crower and others would think something is wrong, but not on Crower's end.

I HIGHLY doubt 3 cams from the same manufacturer just "happened" to break with the same customer, yet noone else has had a problem with them......

Either you're not installing/breaking them in correctly, or you have a carped head that's interfering w/ the cam journals. Get that checked out.

I would go w/ Crower's; I have only heard good things about them, as opposed to the SKunk2's.

Skunk2 Stage 2 is more aggressive.

been running a custom crower cam for 3 years now...hasn't broken.

ya torquing those cam caps unevenly with a breaker bar?

I would go with crower cams, I have yet to see someone make any decent power with Skunk2 stage 2, and have yet to see anyone speed enough money on the supporting CR and engine mods to get there.

absolutly nothing wrong with the head, and no i didn't tighten them down with a breaker bar. And i thought they were good cams too untill i started hearing all the bad things and how many people have had the same problem i have.

i heard a lot of people breaking those crower cams but they were the stage 3's. i havent had anyone complain about the skunk 2 stage 2's breaking. this one guy i know was running 12's in his 5th gen (n/a) and had the skunk 2's in his h22.

i have broken a set (both cams) of crower stage 2 cams.....
so far i have only heard and seen stories about crower cams breaking opposed to other manufacturers.....but i do think that crower hast the best profiles for our cars...looks to me they actually put R&D into designs and not just increase the lift and call it good.

jun cams!..they are the best when it comes to idle. Crower and skunk2's are copies of jun's cams.

I've heard JUN cams in person with the worst idle..the cams made a horrible sound. The guy swithed to crower cams with the JUN valvtrain and it went away

As for all the people that have 'heard' about broken crower cams let's see all the pics, and the proof. I hate when people 'hear' about this and that...

from what I remember the SKS2's have 12.8mm lift on the intake side... They should include a free ball of clay with each set

Ive seen Skunk, Crower, JUN and Web on the dyno at one time or another... I havent seen them in back to back comparisons though... From what Ive seen Im boing to have to choose between either Crower 63423-2 and the JUN cams...

The Crowers seem to be a bit more agressive and IMO will make a bit more power on a fully built motor, thats purely an opinion though... Untill someone does a back to back comparision its going to stay an opinion...
