Currently I'm having problems with my '89 stock automatic DX. When I start the car, the engine bogs down and tries to shut off. If I press the gas pedal down to keep the engine in higher rpms, it will stay on. But, when I put the car in D it will rev high while I drive, which makes me press the brakes harder than normally. Does anybody know what is wrong here? Any help is appreciated.

i dont think its timing, ive had this problem before and took it to the shop for them to fix it which they did, but i dont want to pay so much again just for it to happen again. they said it was some computerized thing, but all i could think of was the ecu. any suggestions/

 

ask the shop what they did to the car to fix the previous problem.
