Default 13" Wheel Fitment Question

Here's the facts...

13x8 Diamonds with a 5" backspace (RWD center) will bolt up to the front of an '89 Integra with the addition of a 5mm spacer.

13x7 Diamonds with a 5" backspace (FWD center) will bolt up to the front as well, with no spacer needed.

My question is would a 13x8 with a 5" backspace (FWD center) fit the same as the 7", with no spacer? I'd rather not get the extended studs if I don't have to. The install is a @#$%.

I'm thinking since the backspace is identical, the extra inch of width goes to the outside of the wheel, providing the same clearance as the 7" wheel. Correct?

Somewhere I posted about these wheels and their issues with Hondas, you should search for it and read it.

I'm guessing if there will be any rubbing issues on the DA3, it will be in the back, depending how wide a tire you will use. When I had the Teg, i was running 14x6.5" with about 4.4" backspacing and the clearance was pretty tight at the back with a 205-55-14. In fact, when i got a nail on one of the tires on the inside edge, it ended up scraping that inside protrusion where the shock goes inside the body.

In the front there's all kinds of room, given the simplicity of the suspension, with no springs, uca or wishbones to get in the way...

sounds right to me

FWIW, 13x9 diamonds (RWD center) w/ 5" backspace are what I use on my car 93 Si

I did a search, and have read your posts on the topic, but was unable to find an answer to my specific question.

The only clearance issues I'm having is the wheel hitting the front caliper. The RWD center will work, with the addition of a spacer. The FWD center will work, with no spacer.
