Default Mounting S600s'es in my 99 coupe

Okay, I bought oversized speakers. I want to mount them in the factory doorholes to keep everything stock-looking. I remember seeing adaptors sold here for something, but what is the best way to go to mount these things? I'm tempted to cut the backing in the speaker holder, but I'm worried about contact with the glass when the window is down.....

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I have had those exact speakers in my 00 Si. These are one of the easiest speakers to get into a civic because they are so damn shallow.

Trim out the basket just enough so that you can get the magnet through. Then take some long pan head, self-tapping screws (ones that are long enough to go through the speaker, through the door panel, and into the metal door. Position the speakers properly - it will take some adjustment to get them right, and then just use the screws to attach the speakers. This scheme allows for very solid mounting. I'd suggest you use some foam baffles (like the XTC ones from crutchfield) and trim out the bottom half of them to act as weather guards and to seal the driver to the plastic door panel.

The factory grilles will easily fit over the speakers with no modification.
