Stock 98 Civic LX 92K

I'm hearing a loud rattling noise coming from the engine right @ 2500 RPM

Any ideas?

 

could be any loos bolt,bracket,nut,washer,shield,etc....what mods have you done?

 

hmmm engine mount may be bad and causeing rattle but I doubt that
heat shield
where from engine,.???

 

I have the same problem. I think mine is the cat though.

 

Mine Could be the cat, although it's hard to tell where the noise is coming from.

No mods, completly stock. Nothing obviously loose, and only happens right @2500-2700 RPM. Also seems to get worse when the engine is warm.

if it was the heat shield it would rattle when you're at idle also..... and not just in between 2500 - 2700 .... mine rattles at idle... when shifting.... and at higher rpms

 

I think my cat rattles @ 1500rpm

 

probably exhaust maybe catylatic converter?.... heat shield would rattle on start... ?
