stock lude vtec sticker ???????
hey guys... got myself a pretty mint and well mantained 93 lude vtec. but the damned factory "DOHC VTEC" sticker on the trunk is half pilled off ?? I would like to replace this. How do i take the remains of the old on off with out damaging the paint. Plus where can i get a factory replace ?? All the aftermarket stickers are like 6" - 12" inches long. yet there is only about 5-1/2" there to work with?? any thoughts ??
Where are you from? In the cincinnati area there is Honda East, or Peformance Honda who can both just order them form a warehouse for you. Official honda. They will cost you $36 + shipping and tax though. Lol. A lot for a sticker I know. That's why mine doesn't have one. :-) (I fix cars for a living... that is the price in the honda parts list we get...) If you are a business with a tax number you can get around the tax. Also, if you are a business that has something to do with cars you can usually get a 10% discount.
geez, 36 bucks....my emblem that said "Prelude" cracked off my 92 lude, and it was only 7 bucks to replace an emblem from Honda...why so much for just a sticker?

2nd on what @ires said: OAH, and use some superfine sandpaper and some running water- Wetanding- will remove the sticker.
VAFC, Remove the sticker, 4bidden short shifter, get some new cams, bore the TB, and a Hytech Header followed by a custom exhaust cat-back 2.25"
Here's just a taste of goodness....

And a close up...
Thanks Jeff652 for the great pics....

I agree. 36 for a sticker is nuts. That's why I went to autozone and bought myself one for $5. It says "VTEC Tuner" but that's close enough. :-) It's not one of those huge ones either. It is about the same size as origional. Also, if you have factory paint there, take yourself a razor blade and very carefully peel the corners up and take it off by hand. There will be glue left but you need to get all the plastic off. Then get yourself some #20 medium lacker thinner (and again I specify, on HONDA origional factory paint only... this stuff with eat any non kiln dried paint which is everyone but the factory!!) and put some on a rag... then you can scrub the glue off with medium pressure. You may need to switch to a different piece of rag a couple of times and add more thinner because the glue gets gummy but just keep going at it until you get it all off. Then there will be a hazy film left over from the lacker drying. To remove this just wash it like normal and you will be golden.
I removed my rear sticker by heating it with a hairdryer and carefully pulling it off.
The remaining glue was taken off using a metal polish I have that is a good cutting agent.
