what are you using the setup for??? the best might not be what your lookin for unless you got lots of money to burn and just to have it for impractical reason....
coilovers are overkill for the street.
go with a good shock/spring combo like kg-mm/espelier springs with koni yellow shocks.
i highly recommend hg/mm supersports with the yellows.

But but but... the car has coilovers from the factory?
Maybe a little bit of knowledge will help before you swap out or even suggest what paths to make.
How about we look at the budget you are working with and the intentions of the car. Because I can recommend you some very nice $5K-$6K coilover sets, but those aren't exactly what you are looking for, nor do they have a bling-bling-JDM badge on them.

Anything in the $1500 price range JDM style is far from overkill for the streets. Overkill is Ohlins, JZRs, Motons, Penskes etc.
Stock is superior to any of the JDM coilover setups, but if you want to lower, by all means go for it. You won't notice much difference in public driving.

H and R has a coil over suspension for 1216.00 and will drop the car 1 to 2" front and rear. This gives you the flexibility to drop and raise the car when needed. While the ride will be stiffer than stock I would not say it is harsh.
Let me know if I can help.

how often does one change the damper "on-the-fly" on a street car?
EDFC is just another ricer's plaything.

LOL
You can actually make your car handle worse on the fly!
