Anyone know what a code 36 is
I have a jdm h22a in my 92 civic I was runnig a usdm p13 and was throwing egr code every once in a while. I then installed a jun racing p72 and everything was fine but ran rich all the time. So I bought a stock p72 put it in and vtec doesnt work.(if anyone knows why please let me know) So I installed a JDM p13 from a friend that has four plugs on it (dont really know why) everything runs great but the occasional egr code that goese away after i turn it off then back on. But know it is throwing a 36 and need to know if there is a fix to erase this code? I would really like to run my p72 but dont understand why vtec doenst work and is it safe to run the p13 with a code 36? Thanks for yoour time

Wow dude that **** made damn near no sense (atleast to me but i just woke up from a nap so bare with me).
What year is the motor?
I never knew you could use a GSR ecu for a H22 because i thought H22's had all this other **** on them, could be wrong though.
But also at one point it sounds like you switched from using a OBD1 (3 plug ecu) to using a OBD2 (4 plug ecu) and it worked fine. First off you cant do that, it wouldnt fit right.
I wouldnt run a P72 unless if the motor is built and able to redline at 8k, because H22's are made to rev at about 7k max stock. I would get a prelude ecu first and work from there.
Edit: Dude your even more screwed up, because code 36 isnt a EGR code, its a :
36 traction control found on JDM ecu's
You could find where i found that here:

Now i dont have the foggiest idea what the hell that is so all i could say is good luck.

I ran a p13 usdm but sold it and bought the jun p72. It doesnt read the egr and other crap. The jdm ecu is obd1 p13 and everything works great other than the egr and traction control come on every once and a while. Iwould like to fix the problem and keep the light. I was told the p72 was better for the h22a but this ecu wont run vtec but will run it in a gsr its a 92 cx hatch with a 94 jdm h22a
EGR is 12 Im throwing a 12 and a 36

Is the motor built? Again im telling you that you have no reason to be using the P72 because you could easily blow the motor. If i remember correctly everyone uses a chipped P28 ecu with there swaps (then again this is off the top of my head and i could be wrong.)
Go back to the stock ecu (what is it P13?) and see how that goes. How did the car run when you were running the USDM P13?
If you REALLY want to use the P72 get a USDM one and i dont think youll throw a 36.

Yea but really his not looking for what the code is (although thats what the title says) his more looking at how to fix it.

Sorry about the title but after I posted it I saw the thread on codes. I ran a chipped p72 even spraying it wont break 8600 rpm But I am running the jdm ecu because I sold the usdm ecu it runs great but I dont want to take out the CEL I want to try to fix the problem. The p72 stock ran way to lean and the vtec didnt kick in so I ditched that idea.
