Default Thanks for yesterday, now i have a question.

well i'l do a compression test tomorrow when i get a ride to autozone to get the stuff i need. ok now i have a feeling because of the condition of he spark plugs i'm gonna need to pull the head off tomorrow, so the big question comes up.. I heard that when you pull th head off a car with an aluminum engine you have to get it machined down so it is "perfect". Is this true? And i know i should do it...but can i get away with just putting it back on after i take it off and take a look at the pistons and valves? or is it absolutely true i NEED to machine the head? oh i'll probably be back tomorrow after i get some info on everything. thanks everyone for your help...but i have a feeling i will need a new engine after everything goes down... but i guess thats also a good thing. That also brings me to question #2...i was thinking about getting the ZC engine from http://www.hmotorsonline.com but i noticed they only have the ZC engine and not the tranny. so will my CRXsi tranny fit up with the ZC engine if i buy it? and how about common parts for the ZC? like if i need a timing belt or whatever can i just go down to AutoZone or how would i get stuff? thanks again for the help everyone

Sorry, about that..no i meant do i need to machine down the header on my D16a6(if my memory is correct) "stock" engine before i put it back on if i do take it off today? I just wanted to know about the Si tranny mounting up to the ZC engine and the guy above my last post gave me a AWESOME site for that info...but anyways i don't want to take off the head if i need to machine it because #1 i don't have the money #2 i don't have time....but thanks anyways..i think i want to keep the ZC engine all the same minus the tranny. cool guys

ok i have no leaks...and i figured i'd try to get a new gasket..but i don't know if i need to tighten the bolts to a certain pressure. And if i do i once again don't have the tools to do it...oh i just thought of this last night...how do i post pictures because i have a webcam but not a portable cam..so i'll have to bring everything inside and take pics..well not the car but still. Oh and another thing (i have SO many questions) how hard is it gonna be to wire in a ZC engine in to a CRXsi? and i read (on that AWESOMELY-awesome site) that i can put in the integra ECU and it will work perfect...so, i'll quite with the questions for now thanks everyone.his site and everyone on it has been SOO helpful. thanks again guy

Far as swapping ZC into Si, there's a few wires on the distro that needs changed to make it plug into stock wireharness but other then that its direct drop, Si tranny bolts up as well. I did that swap last year and had no experiance with doing swaps of sort and I manged it with no problem with lots of help from a site similar to the one already posted. I am still using stock Si ecu as well, need switch that soon.

ok well that is still about a month or so away i need the $$$ to buy the ZC engine and everything else i need to do it. But thank you all anyways, i'm really glad i was told about that site i was kinda worried about the parts and having them replaced ,with me living in New Mexico and all i don't find many JDM parts or replacement parts very easily. So that was a major factor in my choice. any who.....thaks again everyone i'm gonna probably just do a compression test tonight and then i don't know what i'll do from there. Then comes the ZC engine swap.

here is another page that tells u want to do with the wiring for the distributor. http://www.phatwhippincrx.20m.com/photo6.html also u can use your stock d16a6 ecu. thats what im using now i also put an integra ecu in there and i felt no major difference. the only ecu that is said to make a difference is a PG7. but you should be fine with the stock si ecu
